STUDENT ASSISTANCE CENTER
The Student Assistance Center serves as the first point of contact for students, parents, faculty, and staff who call or walk into the Office of the Dean of Students. The staff strives to help students effectively navigate university policy and procedures, educate them about and getting connected to the appropriate campus offices and resources, and support them through difficult situations and crises. Students may visit the office for a range of issues which may be impacting their academic performance including health/mental health, absences from class, questions about how to access services, managing extenuating circumstances, options for withdrawing, or because they need help and aren’t sure where else to go. There is an Assistant Dean on Duty available to meet from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday with students who walk in and to answer questions by phone or email. Email response occurs during business hours only.

STUDY ABROAD
The University of Illinois Study Abroad Office provides more than 200 opportunities in over 60 countries for Illinois students to spend a winter, summer, semester, or academic year abroad. Students of any major are eligible and are encouraged to speak to their academic advisors about courses to take and staying on track towards graduation. While cost is a major concern for many students, the University of Illinois provides over $850,000 in scholarships each year, and many Financial Aid packages can be applied toward study abroad. The office also has a suite of low-cost programs that cost the same, or less, than a semester on campus.
