OVP TURNS 25
Since 1989, OVP has worked to enhance and expand meaningful involvement in community service as well as in public engagement.
MAKE A SIGNIFICANT AND VISIBLE SOCIETAL AND COMMUNITY IMPACT
• Two restrooms were installed as single-use, gender-neutral bathrooms on the first floor of the Illini Union.
• Document Services contributed 921 boxes to the Fighting Illini Hunger initiative.
• This past year marked the 25th anniversary of the Office of Volunteer Programs. The office recognized this milestone by including a special presentation during the annual awards program, holding special events featuring the number 25, and a special graphic on all materials.
• OVP’s annual donation drives received the following:
o CansAroundtheQuad–1,967poundsoffood(donatedtotheEasternIllinoisFoodbank) o Thanksgiving Basket Drive – 220 baskets
o HolidayToyDrive–854toys
• The Registered Organizations Office was awarded a Bronze Level – Green Certified Office cer- tification by the Institute for Sustainability, Energy and Environment. The award recognizes efforts made toward promoting sustainable office practices and reducing the campus carbon footprint.
