RESOURCES FOR STRATEGIC INVESTMENT
• A collaboration between Event Services, Student Programs & Activities, IT, and Marketing resulted in the creation of an online space reservation form that will eliminate more than 8,000 pieces of paper generated during the reservation process.
• Tech Zone held two successful customer appreciation sales in the fall and spring.
• Tech Zone received Apple certification and is now qualified to repair a larger variety
of Apple products.
• Starbucks completed its first full year of operation with FY15.
• Construction started in summer of 2015 on the second Starbucks location housed in the Courtyard Café area of the Illini Union. It opened Friday, August 21.
• Information Technology helped streamline business processes to decrease use of paper in the Computer Lab and Study Space (CLASS).
• Campus Mail transitioned from reporting to Facilities & Services, to Auxiliaries and the Illini Union without any interruption of service to customers.
• The Illini Union Bookstore sales increased by 4.43% in FY15.
• The Business Affairs Office merged Document Services’ accounting with the Illini Union’s,
and also began providing accounting services for Parking and Campus Mail Distribution.
• The Human Resources department became part of the shared services model in Student Affairs, providing support to Document Services, Campus Mail Distribution, and Campus Parking.
• Illini Union Marketing agreed to handle marketing issues for the Office of the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs, the Office of Inclusion and Intercultural Relations (OIIR), and various Student Affairs departments.
