GOALS FOR 2015-2016
The Illini Union had a remarkable year, but that does not mean our work is complete. We have exciting plans for the 2015 - 2016 academic year and look forward to seeing the success that will come from our dedicated efforts.
FOSTER COLLABORATION, DISCOVERY AND INNOVATION
• Publish online “Master Calendar” for all students, faculty, and staff.
• Enhance digital signage advertising program throughout the building.
• Create purposeful and collaborative relationships across campus to plan, promote, and execute events that enhance international and domestic student interaction.
• Expand and strengthen traditional programs that serve Illinois families, including international families, to increase parental engagement.
PROVIDE TRANSFORMATIVE LEARNING EXPERIENCES
• Establish the Illini Union internship program in four departments as a pilot.
• Expand and encourage student engagement in the co-curricular involvement transcript.
• Implement learning outcomes for students taking on leadership roles in registered student organizations.
• Expand the Computer Lab and Study Space (CLASS) capacity, by putting in additional furniture, and change printers to more cost-effective devices.
MAKE A SIGNIFICANT AND VISIBLE SOCIETAL AND COMMUNITY IMPACT
• Complete bottle filler/water fountain replacement project.
• Fund high quality programming that supports community building on campus, fosters inclusiveness across campus, and meets the unique needs of students, faculty, staff, and their guests.
• Translate key materials into additional languages used by Illinois families to better serve the diverse population of families and parents.
STEWARD CURRENT RESOURCES AND GENERATE ADDITIONAL RESOURCES FOR STRATEGIC INVESTMENT
• Complete an Illini Union Facility Condition Audit and develop a building renovation plan.
• Upgrade inventory, timekeeping, and other business-related systems across the organization to reduce manual entry and provide more efficient, cutting-edge customer service.
• Install Quad Shop Coke Freestyle renovation.
85% of Illinois students say participating in campus activities
has allowed them
to meet people with different interests and perspectives.
